How to Use Techni Ice Cut To Fit Your Individual Needs:

One of the greatest things about Techni Ice is that you can use as little or as much as you like. You can cut the sheet in half, in thirds or even in individual cubes!

How to Activate and use TECHNI ICE™:

This is EASY!
Just a little water in the sink or a bowl or container and dunk the sheet. Watch the cells start to inflate. It's EASY and it's almost like magic!

2 Step Instructions:

1.
Immerse the TECHNI ICE™ sheet in warm water for two minutes. You will see the 24 “cells” begin to expand after 2-3 minutes or so (some cells expand more quickly than others; this is normal). Scrunch the sheet together with your hands; this ensures that the cells are reacting with the water properly and removes excess air bubbles.

2.
Remove from sink and blot dry (this keeps the sheets from sticking together during freezing). The TECHNI ICE™ is now ready to place into your freezer as a cooling component, or your microwave as a warming component.

Freezing Instructions:

Place or stack the hydrated TECHNI ICE™ sheets into your freezer. Leave the sheets in the freezer 24 – 48 hours prior to using them (actual time required depends on the capacity of your freezer). TECHNI ICE™ sheets can be kept stored in the freezer like this. For optimum results, your freezer should be set at its coldest setting the last 24 to 48 hours before you use the TECHNI ICE™. The colder (not the longer) you freeze the TECHNI ICE™, the longer they last in the cooler!

Heating Instructions:

Place the hydrated, NON-FROZEN TECHNI ICE™ sheet into your microwave (heat only one sheet at a time). Set your microwave on the highest setting and heat at one-minute intervals so as to determine the temperature desired. Once the heating length is known, subsequent heating cycles can be done “in one shot”.

CAUTION: DO NOT OVERHEAT! Be very careful to test the sheet before placing it on your body!

Maintenance and Maximum Performance Tips:

1.
TECHNI ICE™ has been manufactured for years of trouble free use. After hydrating, blot dry the entire sheet: this keeps the sheets from sticking together once frozen.
2. The lower the temperature setting in your freezer, the longer the TECHNI ICE™ will last per use. Different ice chests will cause the TECHNI ICE™ to act differently depending on the cooling and insulation properties of your ice chest.
3. ICE CHEST PLACEMENT: For optimum performance, one sheet of TECHNI ICE™ should be used for each 6 – 8 quarts of cooler volume. Basically this ‘rule-of-thumb’ is satisfied when you line the bottom and sides of the cooler with TECHNI ICE™. Then place food and drinks in your ice chest and place one sheet on top of the items (cold air falls. You may cut the sheets to fit your needs. It is easier if you cut sheets before hydrating, cutting between the individual cells. Be careful not to cut into the cells. If you do, re-cut the sheet and discard any cut cells.
4. TECHNI ICE™ is virtually maintenance free. Clean the sheets with mild soap and warm water and rinse well after your excursions. Replace back into your freezer so it will be ready to go on your next trip.
5. Re-Hydrate your TECHNI ICE™ sheets every few uses to allow for maximum performance and product life. In order to re-hydrate a sheet, it must be thawed out. It is good practice to store them in your freezer in case you have a power outage so your foods don’t spoil as quickly and you will always have a cold pack ready to go.
WARNING! Do not consume any part of the TECHNI ICE™! Do not let children eat; be responsible!

Tips for Use:

Amount:
Always use a minimum of 1 sheet per 2 gallons of cooler size. The more mass of Techni Ice the better, and the longer it will last. Techni Ice takes up less room than regular water ice, and is lighter.
Where: Place a sheet or more on top of your food, as cold falls. The colder the food or drinks are when placed into the cooler, the longer Techni Ice will keep them that way.
Customize: Techni Ice can also be cut to size, between the individual cells, to fit your application.
Temperature: If you are going away for an extended period, turn your freezer to maximum freeze (approx. 0°F) for 3 or 4 days before departing. Unlike water ice, Techni Ice being an industrial refrigerant, will maintain temperatures beyond -13°F. The lower the temperature Techni Ice is frozen at, the longer it stays frozen.

Storage: When not using your Techni Ice sheets they can be stored in an open plastic bag in a cupboard or freezer. They are virtually maintenance free, but can be run under the water every so often to maintain or regain hydration. Remember to leave a thumb indentation in each cell for room to expand whilst freezing.
Hot Food: Techni Ice can be used inside ice boxes or cooler bags for keeping food hot.

Travel Hint: Say you are going away for a long period. If you take 2 coolers you can take full advantage of Techni Ice commercial performance. Freeze several sheets and put them in your spare cooler. Fill your first cooler as usual with another lot for immediate use. When the first set thaws out, replace them from the second cooler, and continue your trip.
Replacement: Do not mix Techni Ice with regular ice as regular ice melts much faster and will absorb the energy from Techni Ice to try and stay frozen, resulting in Techni Ice losing its chill much quicker than if used by itself.
